Data & Bioinformatics Case Study: Global Team Build for Top 5 Pharma

It is fair to say that the demand for Data and Bioinformatics candidates has never been higher. The Compass Life Sciences team have been engaging with Statistical Programmers, Biostatisticians and Data Scientists at mid to senior level across the Pharmaceutical, Biotech and CRO / CDMO industries with marked increase in the last six months.

This has, in part, been driven by a number of new clients looking to engage in our services as they look to roll-out entire team builds domestically here in the UK, as well as internationally spanning the length and breadth of Europe, and further afield in the United States too – as a result of numerous referrals and an outstanding track record of delivery during this timescale.

The remit

We are delighted to share the latest insight into work recently undertaken, and ongoing, by the team. Compass Life Sciences successfully took part in a competitive pitch to be part of a global ramp-up in the Biostats and Statistical Programming departments of a global top 5 Pharmaceutical organisation. The key requirements included prior experience working in clinical trials, and to have the necessary qualifications in biostatistics (preferably a PhD).

The data

With more than 150 vacancies worldwide, there had been 4 agencies deployed on the project for 6 months prior to Compass Life Sciences’ involvement, and in the first month the client had fed-back that we had been out-performing the other agencies 4 CV’s to 1.

Data in the early stages of the global hires:

  • 48 candidates submitted in 4 weeks
  • 39 interview requests
  • 10 offers already extended – with numerous others in the pipeline

 As a direct result of the outstanding performance, and the quality of candidates introduced into the business, the Compass Life Sciences team have been contacted by multiple other senior stakeholders within the organisation, to discuss their personal hiring requirements on an exclusive basis.
